As shown below, these are some models of orbitals, specifically the S, Px, Py, and Px orbital models as we do not need to know the shapes for the d and f orbitals *there is a video below to show these if you are interested* The main energy level is split into orbitals called the S,F,P and D orbitals. The S orbital is the lowest energy level orbital and can hold 2 electrons, S1 has the smallest volume around the nucleus, S2 is still a low energy level orbit but extends to a larger a volume around the nucleus. The P orbitals are split to an XYZ plane since it is 3 dimensional, collectively the P orbital can hold 6 electrons and is at a higher energy level than the S orbital. Next, the D orbital which is an even higher energy level orbital and can hold a maximum of 10 electrons. Lastly the highest energy level orbital, the F orbital, this orbital has the capacity of 14 electrons.
